Spotted this male Cardinal at Snyder Park today.
One day last July while at Snyder Park I saw a “big” bird fly over my car and into a tree nearby. I grabbed my camera took 2 quick shots before it was scared off by one of those city tree trimming trucks. I drove around in search of the bird, and came back the next day looking for it. I actually saw it but could not get a clear shot of what looks like a red-tailed hawk. This is the best photo I got.
All About Birds states that “the Black-throated Blue Warbler breeds in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada. On migration to its Caribbean wintering grounds it can be seen in a variety of habitats, including parks and gardens.”
I was fortunate to see this bird in May 2015, probably on its way back to the north.
